Canvases that create an installation by overlaying images on top of each other, like layers of sensations and experiences, showcasing depth in fabric work. This method helps Nuriia create a world of nocturnal half-shadows, blurred contours, and various hidden images, where each layer is like fallen leaves, establishing the narrative and perspective of a leisurely story.
Inspired by the night and its ability to conceal sharp corners in shadows and halftones, Nuriia focuses on observation and looks: the artist uses images of a butterfly, a young man, a girl, a rose with sharp thorns, and intertwined hands - all of which become metaphorical reflections of the complexity of human relationships and romantic feelings.
The layering of the canvases creates rhythm and movement, similar to a spectrum of emotions ranging from curiosity to interest, passion, and excitement, ultimately leading to disappointment and a change of feelings. This is a simple story of romantic love, its impossibility, and its fading. Romantic love here takes on the form we know from classical literature: a story without a happy ending, where a rose pricks with thorns and a butterfly flies away, leaving behind memories of unrealized hopes.
